Palmdale – Today Steve Knight announced the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association in his campaign for Assembly.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) is most noted for the campaign to pass Proposition 13 in 1978, and the protection of the law ever since. HJTA is widely regarded as the leading organization in the State of California fighting against wasteful spending and tax increases.
“Steve Knight is committed to protecting California taxpayers from wasteful and irresponsible spending,” said Jon Coupal, President of HJTA. “With the state facing a $16 billion deficit from overspending, taxpayers desperately need Steve’s brand of leadership to balance the budget without a tax increase.”
“I sincerely appreciate the support of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association,” said Knight. “Amidst all this government pressure to increase taxes to solve California’s fiscal crisis, I will continue to protect California from wasteful spending and irresponsible management of resources.”
Steve Knight is running to replace termed-out Assemblywoman Sharon Runner in the 36th Assembly District. The District includes the cities of Adelanto, Palmdale, Lancaster, and Victorville.
Steve Knight has served in the United States Army and currently works as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Knight was elected to the Palmdale City Council in 2005 and is currently the Mayor Pro Tem of Palmdale where he resides with his wife and sons.
