Palmdale – Today Steve Knight announced the endorsement of the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS) in his campaign for the 36th Assembly District.

This endorsement bolsters Knight’s already significant support from public safety advocates across the district. ALADS represents over 8,000 sworn law enforcement officers including deputy sheriffs, district attorney investigators and deputy marshals.

“As a police officer with more than 17 years of experience I am committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe,” said Knight. “I am honored to know that public safety groups that are respected as much as ALADS recognize that I am the best candidate to represent law enforcement in the State Assembly.”

Knight is running to replace Assemblywoman Sharon Runner who is prohibited from running again due to term limits. The District includes the cities of Adelanto, Palmdale, Lancaster, and Victorville.

Steve Knight has served in the United States Army and currently works as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Knight was elected to the Palmdale City Council in 2005 and is currently the Mayor Pro-Tem of Palmdale. He is married and is the father of two sons.
