Palmdale – Today, Palmdale City Councilman Steve Knight announced that Victorville Mayor Pro Tem JoAnn Almond and City Council Member Rudy Cabriales have endorsed his candidacy for the Assembly.

“Steve is a man that is respected throughout the community. He has a history of serving the public, and a record of accomplishments to go with it,” said Almond. “There is no other candidate in this election that is more qualified to represent us, and that is why he has earned my support.”

“I am excited to have the support of the entire Victorville City Council,” said Steve Knight. “I am committed to serving this district in a way that represents its’ unique values. To have the support of so many of it’s elected officials is humbling. ”

Knight adds the Victorville City Council Members to the growing list of supporters that includes Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Senator George Runner, Assemblywoman Sharon Runner, Palmdale Mayor Pro-Tem Mike Dispenza, Palmdale City Councilman Tom Lackey, and the unanimous support of the Lancaster City Council.

Steve Knight is running to replace Assemblywoman Sharon Runner in the Assembly. The District includes the cities of Adelanto, Palmdale, Lancaster, and Victorville. Assemblywoman Runner is prohibited from seeking re-election due to term limits.

In addition to being a Palmdale City Councilman, Knight is a Los Angeles Police Officer with more than 16 years of service. He lives in Palmdale with his wife and two sons.
